The route also gives us a long and scenic stretch of a ridge, on Poggio delle Civitelle (719 m asl), a ridge that separates the Umbrian Vale from the Tiber Valley, offering us in addition to the exciting panoramic views of both, the delicate flavor of the Strawberry Tree and the beauty of the flowering of numerous Ericaceous plants

ROAD MAP<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Upon reaching Pomonte, if you cannot find parking at the start of the route, you can leave your car at the church, well identified from every point in the village by its bell tower, and walk to the trailhead.
\nCrossing a residential area, you reach a wide-open clearing, full of fine debris from the rocks above, and visit the castle ruins. hen the trail skirts the entire southern slope of Colle delle Civitelle until you reach the pass, where, in about a km, you can visit the ruins of Madonna del Monte. From there, with a short loop, you reach the pass again and continue along a scenic ridge route until you descend back to the castle. Be careful on hunting days, at the hunting posts: if manned, announce your presence before passing through.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
